*Road test vehicle (up to legal city speeds) to check engine, transmission and wheel bearings for proper operation and unusual noises.
*Inspect climate control for proper operation.
*Inspect accessories for proper operation Complete mechanical visual inspection (This is not an Ontario Ministry of Transportation Inspection) Examine body work to check for accident damage.
*Check for corrosion on the chassis & on key mechanical components.
*Check for required maintenance, skipped services and services that will be upcoming in the near future.
*Itemize upcoming repairs and maintenance and quote approximate cost of repairs.
After the inspection, the buyer will be invited to view the the vehicle in the shop to discuss any concerns.
Note: Not all problem areas can be discovered on the short period we have with the vehicle. Issues that occur on longer drives such as overheating, engine oil consumption, oil leaks, high speed vibrations etc. may not be found during the initial inspection. It is the buyers responsibility to mention any unusual symptoms to the service department. Although we do our best to discover any potential problems, we cannot be held responsible for any problem areas not noticed during the inspection.
An Ontario Ministry of Transportation Safety Inspection can be performed while the car is in the shop after the Pre-Purchase Inspection. The additional charge is $39.95 + tax. (regular charge is $79.95). This special rate only applies while the vehicle is in the shop for the Pre-Purchase Inspection. Once the vehicle leaves the shop, the standard rate applies. If the car passes the Safety Inspection, a Safety Certificate will be issued. If the car does not pass the inspection, the $39.95 charge still applies. If the vehicle is then repaired within 30 days, the vehicle will be re-inspected and a Safety Certificate issued for no addition charge.
